Stantec's New England Transportation division is seeking a Civil Engineer - EIT in Vermont.

We are in search of a Civil Engineer - EIT who will collaborate with our project teams to assist in the planning and design of civil engineering initiatives, including highways, bridges, and various transportation infrastructures. This role presents the chance to work on some of the most complex and varied projects in the area while joining a growing team of transportation experts.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Civil Engineer - EIT, you will be an integral part of both small and large projects under the mentorship of a Senior Engineer.

Your specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting fundamental calculations to analyze and design components using company-standard software and proprietary tools.
  • Assisting the team in the preparation of designs, drawings, specifications, presentations, and reports, while gathering information to support design decisions.
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and professionals to coordinate project efforts under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer.
  • Assisting in the interpretation and verification of compliance with relevant codes and engineering standards.
  • Providing support services during construction, which may include reviewing submissions, responding to inquiries, and clarifying contract documents.
  • Utilizing relevant software programs to produce working drawings and continuing to enhance skills in design and drafting software (MicroStation/ORD, AutoCAD, spreadsheets, and MathCAD).
  • Conducting fieldwork related to construction activities as necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by a senior engineer.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering.
  • 0-5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to effectively perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or intent to obtain one within six months of hire.
  • Basic understanding of general design concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or other relevant design software.
  • Ability to engage in collaborative project team settings, think creatively and critically, and communicate concepts and ideas effectively.
  • Capability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various designs.
Position will primarily be office-based with potential for part-time remote work; some fieldwork will be required.
