Job Overview

We are currently seeking a meticulous and dependable Records Administrator to assist our client at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head. The chosen candidate will be tasked with the proficient and effective oversight of records, encompassing both digital and physical formats. Key duties will include:

  • Completing and organizing material control sheets and renewing items as needed.
  • Executing classification regrade actions on database records and physical documents.
  • Digitizing books and other bound materials utilizing various scanning technologies.
  • Transforming outdated or obsolete media formats, including disk, audio, and visual, into more current or usable formats.
  • Identifying documents for scanning based on priorities set by the on-site government manager. Preparing documents for scanning by removing bindings such as posts and staples. Processing and cataloging new documents.
  • Conducting vault collection tasks as necessary, including shelf shifting and bulk document destruction.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in tasks related to converting various formats of information into digital formats is required. A bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of experience or an associate degree plus four (4) years of experience may be accepted as substitutes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of records management principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in using electronic document management systems and records management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to commence employment. The selected applicant may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
