Ammunition Logistics Specialist

Position Overview
SAIC is in search of an Ammunition Logistics Specialist to provide support for the US Navy.
Work Environment: This role requires onsite presence five days a week.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected individual will collaborate with a dedicated team of logistics professionals in a remote setting, focusing on the assembly of crates, packaging, storage, classification, handling of ammunition, and regular inventory management. The work will be conducted from a designated loading dock.
KEY DUTIES:
- Understand and implement safety protocols and regulations pertinent to ammunition warehousing operations.
- Follow security classifications, hazard classifications, and explosive safety standards as defined by the Team Leader while assisting in the upkeep of explosive materials in a secure environment.
- Conduct receipt and annual inspections of serialized ammunition under guidance.
- Accurately perform and document thermal readings under supervision.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- A Bachelor's degree coupled with six (6) years of relevant experience in the ammunition or ordnance sector. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- Proficient understanding of ammunition inventory management.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense safety protocols related to ammunition handling.
- Experience in warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of the procedures necessary for the accurate recording and management of ammunition assets.
- Familiarity with technical documentation such as P-803/804/805, CFR-49, and NAVSEA SW020-SERIES-SAF-010 (or equivalent).
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily responsibilities.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must fulfill medical requirements for explosive handlers and drivers as per relevant guidelines.
- Training encompasses the creation and management of records related to requisitions, receipts, issues, expenditures, inventory oversight, and ammunition reporting.
- Must meet the qualifications for certification in explosives handling as per established guidelines.
