Key Responsibilities- Provide daily production support for the UCH Laboratory systems, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
- Implement and support designated Lab instrument interfaces and software applications, adhering to departmental standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with users to define system functionality, information flow, reports, and data requirements, developing specifications and operational procedures.
- Support the Altera (Allscripts/Horizon) Laboratory Information System (LIS), Epic lab integration, Beckman Automation System, and other Lab applications (PowerPath and Wellsky Transfusion/HCLL).
- Develop and document operational procedures, test software, and coordinate software release procedures.
- Work closely with Lab Operations to research and complete test builds and expert rules.
- Report writing and scheduling for Allscripts Lab reports utilizing ALAB, Crystal, and Business Objects.
- Facilitate effective system design and definition, working with users and teams to resolve issues.
- Define and design system tables, parameters, and setup to optimize application functionality.
- Provide project leadership and support for various projects.
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in IS&T or related field. Two or more years of experience with computer applications (programming or analysis) required. Four years of equivalent experience can substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
- Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician (MT or MLT) is highly recommended and preferred. Medical Lab experience is required.
- LIS system analyst experience of 2+ years is required.
- Previous Altera Lab (Allscripts/Horizon) and Epic application experience is preferred.
- Epic Orders or Beaker certification is a plus.
- Ideal candidate would have experience in an automated Lab environment.
- Crystal Report experience is desired.
- Project Management concept knowledge is required.
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
- Strong system orientation and organizational skills.
