Position Overview

ProSidian is seeking a Senior Environmental Chemist to support a significant engagement for a major civil works district within the US Army Corps of Engineers. This role involves providing critical support for Environmental Remediation Services within the Department of Defense and Military Sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental investigations related to remediation, water and wastewater services, and industrial hygiene and safety support.
  • Deliver comprehensive base sustainment, restoration, and modernization support, including environmental compliance, evaluation, management, and remediation.
  • Provide office automation, customer interface, and technical support for environmental evaluation, compliance, and management activities.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including the organization and maintenance of official filing systems and data entry into various databases.

Qualifications

ProSidian personnel are expected to conduct all work with the utmost professionalism, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks. Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A BS or MS degree in chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of eight years of environmental laboratory experience, including at least three years of practical experience in data usability assessment and laboratory methods review.
  • Certification to work at environmental, Installation Restoration Program (IRP) construction, and Hazardous Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) sites, along with initial and annual Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certifications as applicable.

Skills Required

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA standards.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment and safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Extensive experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports and correspondence related to project specifications and activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe).
