Job Overview

SST Direct is seeking an experienced Traveling Environmental Superintendent to lead our remediation projects across multiple sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary tasks and schedules, ensuring compliance with company and client Health and Safety requirements, and directing field personnel and subcontractors to ensure project progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead projects with minimal supervision, managing tasks and schedules effectively to ensure timely completion.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with company and client Health and Safety requirements, conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Team Leadership: Direct field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment operators to ensure project progress, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate daily field documentation, including project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Contract Management: Identify contract requirements, potential changes, and out-of-scope items, working with senior management to negotiate with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Accident Investigation: Conduct initial accident investigations, developing appropriate procedures to prevent future incidents.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with senior management to establish project goals, providing regular updates and progress reports.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor up to 10 direct craft reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in environmental cleanup, soil remediation, demo/decon, or habitat restoration.
  • Leadership: Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams in construction projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Certifications: 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher required, with USACE QC Training preferred.
