Your Contributions

  • Conduct both office and field activities on a range of civil, environmental, and water resource engineering projects, encompassing environmental remediation, parks and recreation, stormwater management, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Create construction documentation, specifications, and cost projections; develop safety and phasing plans, and revise infrastructure layout plans in coordination with stakeholders, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
  • Engage in the complete lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from initial design through to construction management, including rehabilitation, grading, and drainage tasks.
  • Oversee civil engineering projects of various sizes, ensuring team members understand their responsibilities and deadlines, managing project budgets, monitoring external factors, tracking time and expenses, ensuring quality performance, and supervising subcontractors.
  • Assist in the engineering evaluation of permit submissions, design plans, and specifications, along with conducting periodic construction inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and engineering standards.
  • Engage with various public and private stakeholders to address a wide range of engineering and construction challenges.
  • Support and cultivate a client base for civil and environmental engineering services, identifying additional business development prospects.
  • Guide and mentor staff to promote their professional growth and development.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in civil engineering techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with professionals across various disciplines, including engineers, planners, and infrastructure authorities on federally, state, regionally, and locally funded improvement and development projects, as well as business development opportunities.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Over 10 years of experience in engineering and civil design, particularly in public works, environmental, or water resources projects.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Expertise in civil engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build methodologies, and their application to permitting and project-related issues.
  • Proficient in infrastructure design.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong self-leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to interact persuasively and tactfully with clients, regulators, project managers, and colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while providing guidance and leadership to mid-level and senior team members, with strict adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and office automation tools is required. Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS) is preferred.
  • Experience in critically reviewing documents and preparing complex technical deliverables and plans.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge for effective solutions based on testing results, data analysis, and computations.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in coordinating and directing subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
  • Experience in business development and preparing project proposals is preferred.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health, safety, and conduct policies.
  • Flexibility to accommodate various schedules to meet business demands and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary based on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
