Position Summary:
The Food Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pantry. This role involves developing and nurturing community partnerships to enhance donor relationships, as well as providing leadership and support to the Pantry team, volunteers, and the broader Mission community.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, with hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (weekends and holidays as scheduled). The Pantry is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Compensation:
Compensation is based on experience (non-exempt/hourly).

Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (proficiency in Google products; Gmail).
  • Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate with external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of food and equipment safety protocols.
  • Experience in supervising teams and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and effective recordkeeping.
  • Must meet driver qualifications and have the ability to operate a box truck or company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

The Pantry Manager is tasked with developing and maintaining operational procedures and training manuals for the Pantry. This includes providing guidance and support for daily warehouse operations, managing inventory, overseeing order and stocking processes, and ensuring a safe, secure, and clean working environment.

The role involves managing a small team with the assistance of volunteers to ensure efficient pantry operations. Responsibilities include training, developing, and scheduling team members, as well as assessing performance and providing necessary feedback.

All team members may be assigned additional duties as directed by leadership or management, with an expectation of completing these tasks as requested.


Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of physical activity (90%).
  • Ability to stand, stoop, turn, twist, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computers and exposure to computer screens.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, not typically repetitively.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels depending on activities.
  • Consistent communication with others to exchange information, both verbally and electronically.
  • Frequent movement to accomplish tasks.
  • Regular exposure to general cleaning chemicals.
