Role Summary:

The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Mission Pantry. This role involves assisting in order fulfillment and maintaining accurate inventory records for both perishable and non-perishable items received and distributed. The Coordinator also plays a key role in the preparation of food box distribution programs and collaborates closely with volunteers.

Reports to: Pantry Manager

Work Schedule:

Full Time
Monday to Friday; 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (weekends/holidays as scheduled)
Closed on weekends unless otherwise arranged.

Compensation:

Starting at $15.00/hour

Job Requirements:
  • Experience operating pallet jacks and industrial forklifts; eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to meet driver qualifications for operating a box truck or company vehicle.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management and recordkeeping; willingness to learn.
  • Capacity to engage in physical activities for extended periods.
Career Responsibilities:

The Food Pantry Coordinator assists in the daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, housekeeping, organization, stocking, and driving company vehicles for donation pickups as scheduled. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records for inventory and donations received, as well as assisting in the preparation and delivery of food box distributions.

Physical Demands:

Essential physical activities for this position include:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Occasional computer use and exposure to computer screens.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively; team lifting as necessary.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures based on activities and events; indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Variable noise levels depending on the activity or location.
  • Consistent communication with others to exchange information.
  • Frequent movement to accomplish tasks.
