Position Summary
This role is pivotal in overseeing transportation personnel and managing delivery operations. The Logistics Operations Supervisor will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and assist in maintaining essential records and reporting systems. This position operates independently without a manager present on-site.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree or 5 years of supervisory experience in transportation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in the trucking or grocery retail industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT safety regulations, along with food safety standards.
  • Strong technical skills, particularly with TMS fleet routing optimization software and onboard computer systems.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and excellent mathematical abilities.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning new systems and procedures.
  • Decisive problem-solving skills and the ability to make cost-effective decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 30 or more.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate daily operations effectively.
  • Strong initiative and energy for innovation, along with exemplary customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Operations Supervisor will:
  • Commit to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise transportation staff to achieve specific operational goals.
  • Train and develop dispatchers and drivers, identifying high-potential candidates.
  • Facilitate successful collaboration between various departments within the distribution center.
  • Maintain positive relationships with associates and deliver superior customer service.
  • Assess equipment and manpower needs for daily operations.
  • Ensure that capital assets are maintained efficiently.
  • Implement and monitor initiatives aimed at cost reduction.
  • Supervise and coordinate driver dispatching.
  • Work with drivers to promote safe driving practices and conduct training sessions.
  • Ensure accuracy in transportation operations and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of transportation activities and personnel.
