POSITION SUMMARY:


An Insurance Agent plays a pivotal role in driving growth for First MainStreet Insurance, assisting individuals, businesses, and organizations in managing and mitigating their risks effectively.

Agents are tasked with prospecting, networking, and enhancing their knowledge within the insurance sector. Collaborating closely with an Account Manager, they support their client base and oversee growth objectives. Additionally, Agents are responsible for ensuring the renewal retention of existing accounts.

As part of a dynamic, resourceful, and collaborative High-Performance Team (HPT) at First MainStreet Insurance, Agents contribute to a thriving work environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prospect for new business leveraging local networks and community connections.
  • Retain clients by fostering strong relationships within the High-Performance Team (HPT) framework.
  • Conduct sales and service, employing strategies taught by First MainStreet.
  • Actively pursue new accounts and generate interest through effective prospecting methods.
  • Develop accounts and cross-sell products and services by connecting clients with specialists.
  • Enhance growth and client retention through exceptional customer relationships and follow-up communications.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities, promptly following up on referrals.
  • Market insurance risks in alignment with company practices and policies.
  • Promote all lines of commercial insurance, directly influencing revenue through new business acquisition and renewal retention.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers for pre-underwriting, information gathering, submissions, and proposal presentations as needed.
  • Build professional relationships with insurance company underwriters through effective submissions and negotiations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends, underwriting appetites, and coverage developments.
  • Accurately manage prospects, new, and renewal business in the agency management system (EPIC) for trend analysis.
  • Present First MainStreet Insurance services and solutions during prospect meetings.
  • Enhance industry knowledge through continuing education and participation in agency training.
  • Travel or visit clients as necessary.
  • Uphold confidentiality of client and carrier information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, relevant to the position.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated experience as an Insurance Agent/Producer, with a focus on customer relationship management and sales.
  • Proficient in service management software and tools, such as EPIC.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, adept at prioritizing multiple client accounts.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry terminology and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present insurance-related data.
