This position is integral to the Accounting and Finance division, focusing on high-tech clients in the Bay Area. The primary duty involves overseeing and refining the external reporting process, ensuring all necessary technical accounting support is in place.
- Accountable for establishing the procedures for preparing all SEC documentation, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and earnings announcements, while developing the organization's Financial Reporting Policies and Standards to guarantee compliance with US GAAP.
- Coordinate with external service providers to prepare necessary filings for the SEC and earnings announcements.
- Support the external SEC filing process for the company's IPO initiative, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in submissions.
- Conduct research and analysis on technical accounting matters, applying findings to both internal and external reporting, ensuring adherence to US GAAP. Summarize analyses for executive review and for recording in the general ledger.
- Take the lead in collaborating with various departments to evaluate the reporting implications of changes in US GAAP, ensuring compliance with new standards and facilitating necessary adjustments.
- Work closely with business units and FP&A to comprehend budget impacts and implement strategic planning for accounting matters.
- Assist in the month-end and quarter-end closing processes and related reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with FAS 123R as the primary contact for stock-based compensation accounting, including valuation and forecasting, in collaboration with HR.
- Contribute to the development of the organization's SOX compliance framework.
- Engage in additional special projects as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is mandatory.
- At least 6 years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred.
- Proven expertise in SEC reporting and accounting research.
- Strong skills in project management, leadership, relationship building, and team management.
- Results-driven with the capability to oversee projects, collaborate across the organization, and actively participate in achieving all necessary objectives.
- Experience in the high-tech sector is preferred.
- Ability to pursue new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
