Position Title: Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

As a per diem, nonexempt Clinical Staff Pharmacist at CPS Solutions, LLC, you will be responsible for accurately filling medication orders, verifying technician-prepared products prior to release, and ensuring the security of the pharmacy and controlled substances. You will also enter patient information and orders with precision, assist in training new personnel, and keep the Director informed about daily pharmacy operations.


Work Schedule:

This position is per diem and nonexempt, requiring flexibility to work up to 19 hours per week as needed to cover staff absences or additional staffing requirements. On-call duties may be included if necessary.


Compensation:
Hourly rate ranges from $66 to $70, commensurate with experience.

Facility Overview:

Located in downtown Los Angeles, Barlow Respiratory Hospital specializes in long-term acute care, particularly in weaning patients off ventilators. The facility caters to patients with complex medical conditions referred from intensive care units, providing tailored treatment and specialized respiratory care.

The hospital's dedicated team comprises board-certified physicians, registered nurses, licensed therapists, and support staff, all committed to positively impacting the lives of patients and their families. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, and CPS Solutions, LLC manages the pharmacy's daily operations.


Pharmacy Details:

This automated pharmacy operates with advanced systems including Meditech, Omnicell, Up-To-Date, and Micromedex for drug information, as well as CAPS for TPN compounding. Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, and weekends and holidays from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.


Qualifications:
  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an accredited institution; PharmD preferred.
  • Current California Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Pharmacist in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make critical decisions.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and pharmacy information systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts as needed, including weekends and weekdays.

Hospital Requirements:
  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months.
  • Documentation of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella.
  • Proof of Varicella vaccination or immunity.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination.
  • Influenza vaccination required during the flu season.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination.
