Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Oversee the clinical performance of pharmacy staff and ensure they are meeting regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and healthcare facility regulations.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Monitor all aspects of drug and biological product management to ensure compliance with State and Federal Laws.
- Conduct regular inspections of medication administration areas and emergency carts to verify proper storage and medication expiration dates.
- Participate in quality assessment activities related to pharmacy-related issues.
- Financial Management
- Regularly monitor pharmacy expenditures and provide monthly cost analysis reports to the Institution/Facility CEO/CME.
- Prepare fiscal year projections and provide recommendations for cost savings.
- Communication and Reporting
- Attend mandatory clinical staff meetings and prepare reports on pharmacy matters for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, when applicable.
- Designate a Pharmacist-In-Charge for the Institution/Facility pharmacy and promptly notify the Board of Pharmacy, in writing, of the pharmacist's identity, license number, and the date of their designation within 30 days.
- Ensure full compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Current and valid license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of sixteen (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein.
- Must be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing).
