We are in search of a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist with experience in inpatient care to join our esteemed healthcare team.
This role presents a fulfilling opportunity for professionals looking to embrace new challenges and advance their careers. Below are the key details regarding the position.
Role Summary
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital environment.
- Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Compensation: $72 per hour.
- Work Schedule: 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM, 10-hour shifts, with a rotation of 7 days on and 7 days off.
Key Responsibilities
The Pharmacist will:
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of medication orders through the Cerner system.
- Evaluate patient profiles for the appropriateness of medication orders, considering dosage, duplicate therapy, side effects, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy.
- Verify all medications dispensed efficiently.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with sterile compounding regulations.
- Manage narcotic dispensing and reconciliation, addressing any discrepancies.
- Adhere to pharmacy policies in line with federal, state, and local laws regarding drug dispensing.
- Propose and implement improvements to pharmacy workflows and operations.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, providing mentorship and training.
Collaboration and Communication
Maintain strong working relationships with medical and nursing staff, ensuring clear communication regarding:
- Pharmaceutical supply availability.
- Drug usage and compatibility.
- State and federal regulations concerning drug controls.
Be willing to assist with additional duties as required, including coverage for sick calls and supporting various pharmacy areas.
Independent Problem Solving
Demonstrate the ability to:
- Independently address challenges such as drug shortages and narcotic discrepancies.
- Contribute to the review and revision of policies and procedures related to medication orders.
