About This Position

BlackRock USWA Alternatives Sales operates as a dedicated sales team that engages with various channels, regions, and Alternative products, collaborating closely with generalist relationship managers in US Wealth Advisory. This group enjoys exceptional access to investment teams, resources, and strategies within BlackRock, with the mission of identifying and crafting solutions for clients by leveraging BlackRock's extensive expertise across investment capabilities. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the leading provider of Alternative investment solutions in the wealth management sector.

The selected candidate will collaborate with generalist relationship managers to provide Alternatives education to financial advisors and introduce our Alternatives platform and investment offerings. This role is crucial in supporting the broader Alternatives sales and engagement strategy within U.S. Wealth Advisory, fostering key client and prospect relationships to enhance our business and assets under management.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement the alternative sales campaign strategy, serving as the primary contact and key representative from distribution to senior stakeholders and portfolio managers in Alternatives.

- Cultivate strong and enduring sales dialogues with Alternatives Power Users at third-party intermediaries, bringing deep subject matter expertise of BlackRock's investment platform to the sales process and being accountable for significant asset growth.

- Manage influential client relationships at a senior level within the market to elevate BlackRock's overall local presence.

- Collaborate with distribution partners across various client segments within US Wealth Advisory to generate new business opportunities.

- Actively support existing relationship managers' sales efforts with clients and prospects as an Alternatives expert.

- Clearly articulate multiple product characteristics and the BlackRock Alternatives Platform narrative to sophisticated financial advisors.

- Initiate educational and sales activities with financial advisors who are not currently engaged in discussions with BlackRock.

Experience, Skills, & Qualities

- Proven track record in sales, demonstrating the ability to build strong relationships with financial advisors and being recognized as a trusted advisor.

- Capability to drive results independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across business units.

- Proficiency in transitioning effectively between engaging with financial advisors, relationship managers, and product specialists to provide valuable insights and deliverables.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate product and platform characteristics clearly and concisely to sophisticated investors, both in written formats and presentations to diverse audiences.

- A strong passion for financial markets and the alternatives asset class.

- Leadership by example, upholding high ethical standards and a strong work ethic.

- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, with 5+ years in wholesaling preferred.

Education and Credentials

- Series 7 and 66 licenses required. A graduate degree or CFA, CAIA designation is preferred.
