About the Position

BlackRock Services is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our U.S. Wealth Advisory Alternatives Sales team. This specialized group collaborates with generalist relationship managers to deliver comprehensive Alternatives education and solutions to financial advisors. The successful candidate will engage with relationship managers to promote our Alternatives platform and investment offerings, while nurturing key client relationships to enhance business growth and assets under management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the strategic sales campaign for Alternatives, acting as the primary liaison between distribution and senior stakeholders, including portfolio managers.
  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with influential financial advisors, leveraging in-depth knowledge of BlackRock's investment capabilities to drive significant asset growth.
  • Manage high-level client relationships to strengthen BlackRock's presence in the market.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners across various client segments to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Support existing relationship managers in their sales initiatives by providing expert insights on Alternatives.
  • Effectively communicate the characteristics of our products and the narrative of the BlackRock Alternatives Platform to sophisticated financial advisors.
  • Proactively engage with financial advisors who are not currently involved with BlackRock to initiate educational and sales discussions.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated sales experience with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors, recognized as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to achieve results independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across various business units.
  • Proficient in navigating interactions with financial advisors, relationship managers, and product specialists to deliver valuable insights and solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating product and platform features clearly to sophisticated investors in both written and verbal formats.
  • Strong passion for financial markets and the alternatives asset class.
  • Exemplary leadership qualities, maintaining high ethical standards and a strong work ethic.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a wholesaling role preferred.
Education and Credentials
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses are required. A graduate degree or CFA, CAIA designation is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

For California-based positions, the salary range is $137,500 - $194,000. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement plans. BlackRock follows a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and total compensation may vary based on role, location, and individual performance.
