Position Overview

The Service Cashier plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions within the dealership. This position involves accurately processing cash, credit, and debit transactions while providing exceptional customer service regarding payment inquiries, invoices, and financial matters. Additionally, the Service Cashier is responsible for coordinating service appointments for customers reaching out for assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently receive and process cash transactions related to vehicle purchases, parts, and service payments, ensuring adherence to dealership policies.
  • Conduct regular cash counts and address any discrepancies promptly.
  • Utilize the dealership's computer system to calculate customer bills accurately.
  • Securely process credit and debit card transactions, verifying account details and obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Manage check payments with appropriate documentation and verification.
  • Generate and handle invoices for vehicle sales, service, and parts transactions.
  • Issue cash refunds accurately for approved merchandise returns.
  • Collaborate with department managers to stay informed about new products, services, and pricing changes.
  • Assist the service department by answering phone calls to schedule appointments.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in basic math calculations with a keen attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with office equipment (e.g., copier, credit card machine, telephone).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while scheduling appointments in-person or over the phone.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Cashier with appointment scheduling responsibilities.
  • Experience in an automotive dealership setting.

Compensation

  • $23.00 per hour

*The Service Cashier position offers a competitive pay scale ranging from $20 to $23 per hour.

Work Schedule

  • FULL TIME
  • 40 hours per week
  • Availability required from Monday to Saturday
  • Sundays off with one additional day off during the week
