As an Automotive Service Technician at Sunroad Automotive, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automotive issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize diagnostic tools to accurately identify mechanical issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections and perform tests on various vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and tune-ups, to keep vehicles in top condition.
- Diagnose malfunctions and carry out repairs as outlined in the service order, adhering to industry standards.
- Repair or replace components such as brakes, transmissions, and air conditioning systems, ensuring all work meets quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors to communicate necessary repairs and provide time estimates for additional services.
- Inspect new vehicles for any damages and document findings for necessary repairs.
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Perform additional tests, including road tests, to verify the effectiveness of repairs.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive service.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Knowledge of and compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One or more ASE certifications in automotive specialties.
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle repair processes and mechanical systems.
- Strong technical and customer service skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting service manuals.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting. Technicians must be able to work in a dynamic environment, which may include exposure to noise and various odors.
