Job Overview

Position: Sample Collection Specialist (No experience required)

Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Compensation: $16.50 per hour.

Role Summary:

As a Sample Collection Specialist, you will play a vital role in the quantitative drug testing processes conducted by our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently collect urine samples from patients for laboratory analysis. This position requires you to perform both observed and supervised specimen collections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipment of urine samples.
  • Collect urine samples from patients while ensuring compliance with all protocols.
  • Adhere to departmental policies to accurately identify patients prior to specimen collection.
  • Label and document specimens properly and prepare them for shipping.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and empathy when interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and clinic personnel.
  • Effectively communicate with a diverse patient population.
  • Follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards in specimen handling.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Report any low volume shifts, unusual issues, or deviations from established procedures to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure patient and work areas are kept neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Manage order processing and office supplies as necessary.

  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Proficient computer skills – capable of navigating multiple programs and managing emails and reports.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with accuracy and credibility.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical activities include frequent walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting.
