Job Summary

The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, coordinating educational programs, and managing daily classroom operations at Little Vols Learning Center LLC. This role requires a deep understanding of child development and the ability to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Coordinate and implement educational programs by designing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example, encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Child Engagement: Plan individual and group activities to actively engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain frequent communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met, maintaining a healthy and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervision: Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Professional Development: Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Credential: Must currently possess an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Education: OR at least 48 semester credit hours, of which 15 semester hours are in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies.
  • Experience: AND at least two years of experience working with children in a licensed child development facility.
  • Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, high energy, and the ability to work well with others.
  • Certifications: Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Background Check: Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
