Are you ready to nourish young minds? KinderCare is seeking a cook to prepare nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for the children in our centers. Following a menu crafted by our in-house nutritionist, you will ensure that our children receive the essential nourishment they need to thrive and learn.

As a Cook, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the kitchen and related equipment are maintained safely and hygienically.
  • Ordering food and supplies as needed.
  • Dispensing and storing medication when requested.
  • Completing timely and accurate documentation in accordance with KinderCare and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with other daily center duties as necessary.
  • Collaborating with center staff and leadership to support goals related to enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of food safety practices, including understanding the needs of children with food allergies and implementing methods to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare adequate quantities of food for the center's population.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating serving portions.
  • Possession of a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain one.
  • At least one year of experience in institutional cooking; food ordering experience is highly desirable.
  • Two or more years of experience working with children is preferred.
  • Physical capability to use a computer with basic proficiency and lift up to 40 pounds, which may be required in some classrooms or the kitchen.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English to communicate effectively with children and their parents.
