Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Learning Program Director to join our team at the YMCA of East Tennessee. As a key member of our early childhood education team, you will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing high-quality programming and support to our Early Learning Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to support enrollment and retention of members, creating a member-focused culture and modeling relationship-building skills.
  • Supervise teacher assistants, ensuring daily record keeping, attendance, and child reports are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in training and development of staff, maintaining individual training plans that meet DHS 3-Star standards.
  • Work closely with the Early Learning Director to develop programming, plan daily activities, and oversee program operations.
  • Plan and promote monthly family engagement activities that support the development of the whole child.
  • Promote the program throughout the year, attending all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Follow all Y policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience and strong supervisory skills.
  • Good organizational skills and task-oriented.
  • Necessary skills in working with the general public and professionals in the school system.
  • Experience working with DHS licensed child care/early child care agency highly preferred.
Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
