Job Overview

Position Summary
The Educator is tasked with fostering a unified teaching environment, overseeing the educational framework, and managing the daily operational functions of the classroom. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute educational programs by creating classroom activities aligned with developmentally suitable practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Exemplify leadership; promote the success of the teaching team through demonstration and mentorship.
  • Organize individual and group activities that are age-appropriate to actively involve children and support their social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal chats, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Promote a healthy classroom setting by upholding hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards for children.
  • Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records, documentation, and files.
  • Develop a personal professional growth plan to ensure ongoing quality enhancement.

Qualifications

  • Possession of an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or in the process of obtaining one.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 48 semester credit hours, including 15 semester hours in early childhood education, early childhood development, or child and family studies.
  • At least two years of experience in a licensed child development facility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy levels and the capability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to cultivate a team-oriented environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening.
