About the Role

The Senior Sous Chef at Seagate Hospitality Group LLC will be a key player in overseeing the daily culinary operations of our hotel. At times, this position will assist with other areas of the resort. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring quality control, and executing dishes that meet our luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Culinary Team: Be the point person for all hotel culinary functions, including In Room Dining, Cafeteria, Coffee Shop, lobby bar, amenities, and other areas assigned.
  • Supervise Kitchen Staff: Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Menu Development: Assist in the creation and execution of menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques to enhance the dining experience.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, conducting regular inspections and maintaining consistency in all dishes.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain budgetary constraints while minimizing waste.
  • Staff Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-end or luxury hotel or restaurant, with at least 3 years in a sous chef role.
  • Culinary Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Culinary Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
