Position Overview

Salary: Competitive based on experience

Role Summary:

The CAD Technician plays a crucial role in crafting comprehensive civil engineering designs for diverse land development initiatives across commercial, residential, and municipal domains. This includes creating detailed plans for site layouts, utilities, grading, and stormwater management, guiding projects from initial concept through to finalized construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and refine intricate civil engineering plans for various land development projects across multiple sectors.
  • Evaluate and design engineering systems pertinent to land development and utility management.
  • Produce and present calculations for site grading, utility establishment, and roadway specifications for conversion into actionable drawings.
  • Utilize advanced software to produce precise 2D and 3D designs for complex engineering projects.
  • Engage collaboratively with project teams to establish timelines, budgets, and resolve any arising challenges.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements, standards, and emerging software technologies.
  • Analyze project data to devise innovative solutions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of AutoCAD data files generated.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in setting up and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation adhering to established standards with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, earthworks, profiles, and sections.
  • Capability to perform fundamental calculations such as slopes and grades.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication across various teams and levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's degree in CAD or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical certification in AutoCAD/Drafting is advantageous.
  • Experience in Single, Family, and Master Planned Development is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Prior experience in Land Development is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the following physical capabilities:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
