Role Summary:

The Civil CAD Technician plays a crucial role in crafting precise civil engineering plans for a variety of land development initiatives across commercial, residential, and municipal sectors. This position involves creating comprehensive designs that encompass site layouts, utility placements, grading, and stormwater management, guiding projects from initial concepts to finalized construction documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and refine detailed civil engineering plans for diverse land development projects.
  • Evaluate and design engineering systems pertinent to land development and utility management.
  • Produce calculations for site grading and utility requirements, translating these into actionable working drawings.
  • Utilize advanced software to develop intricate 2D and 3D designs for multifaceted projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish project timelines and budgets while addressing challenges effectively.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, standards, and best practices in software technology.
  • Analyze project data to devise innovative solutions.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of AutoCAD data files.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, earthworks, profiles, and sections.
  • Capability to perform fundamental calculations related to slopes and grades.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively across various teams and levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to multitasking.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's degree in CAD or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Technical certification in AutoCAD/Drafting is advantageous.
  • Experience in Single, Family, and Master Planned Development is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Prior experience in land development is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

This role may require the following physical capabilities:

  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing at least 10 lbs.
