Role Responsibilities:

The Clinical Pharmacy Support Specialist is responsible for providing essential clinical support services and sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to state pharmacy regulations.

The specialist will prepare and deliver clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications aligned with our core business functions.


Key Duties Include:
  • Sterile preparation of IV and infused medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.
  • Understanding and applying USP 797 standards and relevant State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Maintaining call and shipment schedules to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
  • Collecting, documenting, and coordinating customer communications, laboratory data, and various clinical information with pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams.
  • Efficiently entering pertinent patient and prescription information into the pharmacy software system.
  • Performing cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Participating in the company's quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Staying current with continuing education requirements set by the Board of Pharmacy and participating in company-sponsored CE offerings.
  • Receiving and storing medications and supplies from vendors.
  • Picking and packaging supplies and medications for shipment to customer locations.
  • Participating in scheduled inventory counts and adhering to the formulary management program.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma; some college credits preferred.
  • Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or as required by the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum experience as a technician in a pharmacy IV room within a hospital setting.
  • Prior experience in a home infusion company is preferred.
  • Current registration and ACPE requirements must be met.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong sterile compounding techniques.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
