Role Responsibilities:
The pharmacy technician will deliver clinical support services and engage in sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to state pharmacy regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of sterile IV and infused medications in compliance with current standards and regulations.
- Understanding and applying USP 797 and USP 800 standards, along with relevant State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintaining communication and shipment schedules to ensure seamless patient care.
- Documenting and coordinating clinical information with pharmacy, nursing, and reimbursement teams.
- Efficiently entering patient and prescription data into the pharmacy management system, in accordance with regulations.
- Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room as per company and state regulations.
- Participating in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Staying updated with continuing education requirements and completing annual re-credentialing.
- Managing the receipt and storage of medications and supplies.
- Picking and packaging medications for patient delivery.
- Participating in regular inventory counts and adhering to formulary management.
- Obtaining additional state licensure as needed to support branch operations.
- Performing other assigned duties as necessary.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM
- Experience in sterile compounding is required
- Must hold a pharmacy technician license in the state of Georgia
- PTCB National Certification is preferred
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or as required by the state board
- Experience in a pharmacy IV room within a hospital setting is essential
- Prior experience with a home infusion service is advantageous
- Current registration and compliance with ACPE requirements
- Strong customer service abilities
- Proficient sterile compounding skills
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
