Role Responsibilities:
The Clinical Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for delivering clinical pharmacy services related to both chronic and acute infusion therapies. This includes sterile compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Compounding, dispensing, and monitoring clinical services as prescribed by authorized medical professionals.
- Adhering to all local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure compliance with pharmacy standards.
- Coordinating pharmacy services with nursing, admissions, reimbursement, sales, and marketing to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Assisting in the training and orientation of new pharmacy personnel and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy interns.
- Providing clinical support to sales and marketing teams, including reviewing marketing materials.
- Ensuring compliance with procurement and inventory management protocols.
- Collaborating with corporate clinical services and participating in product selection committees as needed.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements for controlled substances.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with some flexibility required.
- Participation in on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a specialty home infusion environment or hospital pharmacy IV room.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) with relevant clinical experience.
- Completion of a postgraduate residency or specialized training.
- Active state pharmacy licensure.
- Strong clinical and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
