Position: GE Wind Electrical Technician

Role Summary:

The GE Wind Electrical Technician plays a crucial role in executing maintenance and repair operations on GE wind turbines, ensuring their peak performance and safety. This position involves collaborating with a team of skilled technicians, adhering to stringent safety standards, and maintaining exceptional turbine reliability and availability.

Key Duties:

Maintenance and Repair Operations:

  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on GE wind turbines.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Replace defective components and implement essential upgrades.
  • Keep comprehensive records of maintenance and repair activities.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and corporate standards.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in GE wind turbine technology and maintenance methodologies.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to the maintenance team.
  • Work in conjunction with GE technical support for intricate troubleshooting and repairs.

Operational Performance:

  • Enhance turbine efficiency to boost energy output and reduce downtime.
  • Analyze turbine performance data to detect potential issues.
  • Apply best practices to elevate maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain precise and updated maintenance logs and service records.
  • Effectively communicate with site management regarding maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in wind energy technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, particularly with GE turbines.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is highly advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
    • Familiarity with GE wind turbine technology and maintenance practices.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Effective organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Certifications:
    • Preferred certifications include GE wind turbine certification (1.X, 2.X, 3.X, PMG, or Sierra Turbine Fundamental Certifications, Converter, Advanced Troubleshooting, and/or Differences course).
