Position Responsibilities:
Essential Duties

Ensures adherence to and compliance with Orlando Health and department-specific policies, procedures, value statements, and Commitment to Excellence standards.


Capable of managing multiple concurrent tasks, answering phone calls, taking messages, and organizing lab reports, medical records, and other information in accordance with practice policies and procedures.

Conducts word processing and manages spreadsheet data.

Handles charge entry and cash transactions.

Acts as a liaison among the physician, patient, and insurance providers, including obtaining necessary referrals and/or authorizations.


Maintains consistent, punctual attendance in alignment with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator initiatives as assigned.

Demonstrates understanding of legal considerations, patient rights, and adherence to standards set by regulatory and accrediting bodies. Practices efficient resource management.

Maintains a clean, safe, and organized office environment.

Serves as a liaison to assist the office billing service as required.

Qualifications:
Education/Training

High School diploma or equivalent.

Typing proficiency of approximately 30 words per minute or ability to effectively demonstrate competent use of practice management software.

Familiarity with ICD & CPT coding.

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office setting.
