Position Overview

The M&A Financial Analyst role is with 7 Pillars, a subsidiary of Cain Watters & Associates. 7 Pillars specializes in assisting dental professionals through the transition process, focusing on private practice dental transitions to dental service organizations (DSOs), private equity firms, and strategic acquirers.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Transaction Success at 7 Pillars, the M&A Financial Analyst is a key contributor during the Analysis, Letter of Intent, and Due Diligence stages. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of valuations and projections for 7 Pillars' clients. The M&A Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the dedicated Deal Team and will be introduced to clients once an engagement agreement is established. This role also involves working with external financial firms during the Due Diligence phase to confirm the accuracy of essential documents.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leverage existing expertise and financial knowledge to enhance the firm's analytical techniques and processes while delivering exceptional service to clients.
  2. Facilitate the collection of due diligence documentation through requests and interactions with clients and their representatives.
  3. Conduct financial analysis, including reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and operational data of dental practices to estimate value and pricing.
  4. Address inquiries from potential partners regarding financial and operational data and assumptions related to practice valuation.
  5. Assist the Director of Transaction Success in guiding clients through the partner due diligence process, including Quality of Earnings assessments and legal documentation of transactions.
Essential Functions
  1. Engage with clients to collect necessary financial information.
  2. Analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies.
  3. Develop innovative solutions to deliverables that address client inquiries.
  4. Collaborate with the team to provide financial recommendations based on thorough analysis.
  5. Evaluate the economic performance of clients' practices.
  6. Respond to client inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Provide information to clients for interested buyers to facilitate the due diligence process.
  8. Formulate and prepare insightful, targeted questions for clients based on comprehensive analysis of valuation data, ensuring alignment with client objectives and addressing key areas of interest or concern.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in valuation, analysis, or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • CPA candidate or CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience in an advisory capacity (e.g., litigation, valuation, and/or consulting) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the healthcare or dental sector is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
  • Strong initiative and capacity to manage multiple projects with effective follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to professionally problem-solve and present practical recommendations to clients.
  • Timely and accurate project completion is critical.
  • Self-starter with the ability to initiate and follow through on projects.
  • Above-average organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Work Environment

This position operates in a standard office environment, utilizing typical office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary role; however, some filing may be necessary, requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as needed.

Position Type

This is a full-time, exempt position with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday. Flexibility in hours may be permitted with management approval. A hybrid work arrangement is available, requiring 2-3 days of in-office presence.
