Role Summary

As a key member of our organization, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive risk oversight framework to ensure Fannie Mae's adherence to fair housing and lending regulations. You will conduct evaluations of fair housing and lending risks across the Enterprise and collaborate with business units to identify, mitigate, and rectify both self-identified and supervisory risks. Your responsibilities will encompass ongoing monitoring, focused reviews of business risk management practices, applying quantitative analysis to enhance fair housing and lending efforts, and ensuring effective collaboration with legal experts and other essential partners in executing sustainable compliance initiatives. You will also engage with regulatory bodies regarding fair housing and lending issues, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement streamlined requirements for risk identification and control documentation across business units.
  • Lead compliance initiatives, including monitoring and targeted reviews, producing high-quality deliverables that require minimal revisions.
  • Assist colleagues in creating analyses and reports that assess business activities posing potential fair housing and lending risks.
  • Review and refine outputs from team members before they are presented to management.
  • Identify and resolve issues with minimal guidance and collaboration.
  • Lead strategic projects independently, demonstrating innovative approaches to process redesign and problem-solving.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills and sound judgment on various issues, advancing projects with limited oversight.
  • Evaluate the probability and impact of fair housing and lending risks, ensuring resources are allocated based on risk priorities.
  • Present findings and analyses to senior management and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in fair lending and housing risk analysis, testing, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify obstacles to achieving results and propose effective solutions through creative and critical thinking.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in preparing reports and documentation that summarize testing outcomes and findings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to colleagues, senior management, and regulators.
  • Proficient in managing time effectively to complete projects and tests efficiently.
  • Capability to assist in identifying and escalating compliance issues to management.
  • Experience in gathering accurate information to clarify concepts and address critical inquiries.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to facilitate effective compliance across the organization.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including stakeholder engagement and network building.
  • Proficient in SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in data analysis to identify trends or relationships that inform conclusions.
  • Prior experience in a financial institution or regulatory body.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with non-technical stakeholders, including legal and compliance professionals.
