Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Coordinator Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Coordinator Lead to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our Laboratory Medicine and Pathology department, you will play a critical role in overseeing and assessing daily tasks and workflows for Accessioning.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assess daily tasks and workflows for Accessioning
  • Facilitate coordination of workflow, operational standards, and policies between Accessioning and other areas in the department
  • Maintain open and appropriate communication with direct supervisor and department leadership regarding staffing, workflows, and policies and procedures
  • Train and onboard new staff in Accessioning
  • Assign and direct the work of Accessioning staff as related to their standard duties as well as coverage needs
  • Regularly meet with staff and supervisors to review, revise, and/or implement process improvements
  • Interact professionally and communicate appropriately and clearly with physicians and staff in the Pathology department and other departments/institutions
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of clinical or public health laboratory experience OR equivalent education/experience
  • Ability to work in other departmental locations in order to meet patient service requirements
  • Ability to meet with all shifts on a regular basis
