Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading biotechnology company in Seattle, WA.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented individual to process medically relevant biological samples through extraction or high-throughput DNA sequencing assays. The successful candidate will work within a clinical laboratory team in a fast-paced, high-production setting to process research and clinical diagnostic samples to provide test results to patients, oncologists, and other healthcare providers and researchers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform DNA extractions, PCR amplification, or high-throughput sequencing assays on DNA libraries.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including GxP, FDA, and ISO.
- Keep accurate and detailed records for all workflows following Good Documentation Practices.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as liquid handling robotics and DNA sequencers.
- Enter and track data in a laboratory information database.
- Exhibit clear and effective communication to facilitate effective handoff procedures.
- Record nonconformances for all appropriate errors.
- Lead by example and model appropriate cultural and professional behavior.
- Provide coverage for staff absences in collaboration with supervisory staff and team leads.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher in medical technology or laboratory science from an accredited institution.
- Molecular biology skills, including DNA extraction, purification, PCR, qPCR, and next-generation DNA sequencing.
- Experience working with human specimens and biohazardous material.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASCP(MB) certification.
- Specialized knowledge and skills: Experience in a clinical, high-throughput environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, and supplies.
- Competent in laboratory automation and demonstrated laboratory best practices.
- Experience working within an electronic Laboratory Information Management System.
