Job Title: Director of Development

MIRA Coalition seeks an experienced development professional to lead our fundraising efforts and drive growth in support of our mission to promote the rights and inclusion of immigrants and refugees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to increase funding from individual, corporate, and foundation sources.
  • Lead a team of development staff in creating and implementing effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for donors.
  • Manage the submission of grant proposals, concept papers, and grant reports, and maintain collaborative conversations with program and policy staff.
  • Utilize data collection instruments to analyze and complete reports on member and program performance.
  • Support the Board Resource Development Committee and serve as the primary staff liaison to the board on all fundraising initiatives.
  • Plan and implement major funding events, including donor receptions and fundraising campaigns.
  • Produce appeal letters in conjunction with Communications, Programs, and Policy staff.
  • Proactively ensure that MIRA develops strong, long-term relationships with major and leadership individual and institutional donors.
  • Mobilize Board members as fundraisers through donor engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage the processing and accounting of gifts.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of seven years of fundraising experience, in addition to a relevant degree.
  • Extensive experience in fundraising leadership with deep knowledge of fundraising principles, strategies, and outcome metrics.
  • Proven success at managing and implementing a comprehensive development program and increasing financial results.
  • Experience managing data, including experience with CRM systems.
  • Exceptional communication and management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • A broad understanding of the challenges facing the immigrant and refugee community in Massachusetts is required.
What We Offer:
