Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the effective operation, repair, and upkeep of various building systems. This role requires the ability to handle heavy machinery and work in diverse environmental conditions. The mechanic will respond to service requests, addressing urgent issues and overseeing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform operation, repair, and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including air handling units, pumps, and heat exchangers.
  • Install and maintain electrical circuits and plumbing fixtures.
  • Conduct minor carpentry work, including ceiling tile replacement and door hardware repairs.
  • Execute routine inspections and maintenance of emergency generators and associated systems.
  • Manage requisitioning of materials necessary for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, including filter changes and lubrication, and ensure optimal performance of building systems.
  • Document inspections and maintenance activities, providing reports to supervisory staff.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in relevant mechanical trades or trade school education in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related fields.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in operating and maintaining central plant equipment and building systems.
  • Proven skills in repairing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to safely manage and secure systems for maintenance purposes.
  • Basic carpentry skills and familiarity with general building systems.
  • Valid driver's license and capability to operate vehicles as needed.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures in maintenance operations.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.

Work Schedule: Day Shift, Monday through Friday
