Position: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic
Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the effective operation, repair, and upkeep of various mechanical and electrical systems within our facilities. This role requires hands-on experience and the ability to respond to service requests promptly, ensuring that all systems function optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC units, plumbing, and control systems.
- Execute installation of electrical circuits and repair restroom fixtures as needed.
- Conduct minor plumbing tasks, including soldering and threading of pipes.
- Facilitate repairs by draining and securing systems.
- Carry out basic carpentry tasks, such as replacing ceiling tiles and repairing door hardware.
- Maintain air handling units by cleaning coils to ensure efficient operation.
- Inspect and maintain emergency generators and associated components.
- Order necessary materials for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Document inspections and report findings to supervisors.
- Undertake additional duties as required within the scope of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Certification in relevant mechanical trades or completion of a trade school program in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related fields.
- A minimum of five years of experience in maintaining central plant equipment and building systems.
- Proven ability to repair and maintain electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Experience in safely securing systems for maintenance work.
- Basic carpentry skills and knowledge of building systems.
- Valid driver's license and capability to operate vehicles as necessary.
- Strong understanding of safety practices in maintenance operations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environments.
Work Schedule: Day Shift - Monday through Friday
