Position Overview

Martin/Martin Consulting Engineers is seeking a seasoned civil project engineer to enhance our team. Key Responsibilities

  • Support in comprehensive planning and initial design phases.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project fees and preparation of proposals.
  • Oversee design budgets and timelines for various projects.
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients, contractors, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from design inception to construction completion.
  • Guide and mentor a team of civil engineers and CAD professionals.
  • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil3D for the design and detailing of medium to large-scale projects within set timelines and budgets.
  • Participate in project meetings throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on produced work.
  • Provide construction administration support, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
  • Monitor project budgets and oversee client invoicing processes.
  • Engage in collection and accounts receivable activities.
  • Be prepared to work overtime as necessary.
Working Conditions and Skills Required

This role is primarily technical and involves both office and fieldwork. The following abilities are essential:
  • Ability to navigate various work environments, including non-ADA compliant construction sites.
  • Capacity to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Repetitive tasks involving keyboard and mouse usage.
  • Ability to carry, ascend, and descend ladders.
  • Color identification skills.
  • Proficient in reading, communicating, and documenting in English.
  • Ability to accurately exchange information.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces.
Qualifications

Required:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in site development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently for prolonged periods.
  • Excellent written, technical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Dedication to client service and a collaborative approach.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Proven skills in marketing and business development.
  • Possession of a PE license in Arkansas or the ability to obtain one promptly.
Desired:
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D for civil construction documentation.
  • Strong familiarity with municipal and commercial site development projects.
