Senior Civil Engineer - Public Works

Job Overview: We are seeking a full-time Senior Civil Engineer - Public Works to contribute to our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience and hold a Professional Engineer license in Colorado, specializing in Public Works initiatives. Responsibilities encompass initial project assessment, overseeing plan development, managing production teams, and handling construction administration and project completion tasks.

Compensation Type: Salary
Required Credentials: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Lead Civil Engineer within Public Works projects
  • Develop preliminary engineering documentation.
  • Investigate jurisdictional requirements for integration into design and construction plans
  • Draft proposals/contracts and establish project work plans and timelines
  • Create design and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD and research findings
  • Manage client relations and marketing strategies for future projects.
  • Prepare GIS illustrations using ArcGIS
  • Conduct site evaluations and document observations
  • Collaborate directly with clients and supervise a diverse team
  • Record and distribute meeting notes and assist with project communications
  • Prepare visual materials for presentations or documentation
  • Oversee staff in hydrology, hydraulic analysis, flood management, and client relations
  • Initiate and lead project kickoff discussions and design consultations with clients, along with preparing monthly forecasts and cost estimates as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must possess a valid PE license in Colorado with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Proven track record in producing precise and comprehensive construction documents and reports
  • Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative environment and manage multiple projects with minimal oversight
  • Proficient in direct client engagement and leading a team with varying levels of expertise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying engineering concepts clearly
  • Competence in training team members and ensuring quality control
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, self-driven, with a strong ability to meet deadlines and address complex challenges
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D is advantageous
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Consistent proactive communication with clients, addressing issues promptly or escalating as necessary
  • Build and maintain effective client relationships for seamless communication and problem resolution
  • Identify issues and propose solutions, effectively implementing and documenting for stakeholders

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to focus on details, work under pressure, apply sound judgment, and prioritize tasks effectively
Annual Base Salary Range: $100K - $180K, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The total compensation package will include a base salary and eligibility for an annual bonus incentive program.
