Position Overview:
The Senior Manager – Cyber Security & Privacy Governance is tasked with steering a coherent, efficient, and effective strategy for Sentara Healthcare's technology policies, standards, and industry certifications. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and operationalizing policies, standards, and processes aimed at mitigating technology risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of cyber security and privacy governance professionals to establish standards and processes that mitigate information and technology risks.
  • Develop and maintain a Governance framework that addresses regulatory, industry, and contractual obligations across all Sentara Healthcare businesses, markets, and regions.
  • Set primary oversight objectives and goals for information and technology governance, focusing on strategic alignment, performance management, value delivery, and risk management capabilities.
  • Establish standard processes for evaluating business and consumer risks in support of the Sentara Healthcare Cyber Security Management System.
  • Collaborate with industry peers to conduct benchmarking exercises, providing insights into Sentara Healthcare's maturity and proactively implementing best practices.
  • Implement a regulatory monitoring program to assess the impact of regulatory changes across the technology landscape and report periodically to business leadership on compliance progress.
  • Evaluate and communicate cyber security and privacy risks and solutions to business leadership.
  • Maintain metrics, reporting, and tracking programs to ensure processes are functioning as intended and risks are being monitored.
  • Align with cross-functional teams to define and implement data protection and governance processes and technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with Sentara Healthcare risk leaders and end users to assess and enhance business processes, arriving at mutually beneficial, budget-conscious solutions.
  • Manage the Cyber Security Awareness program, including content management for LMS courses, oversight of phishing assessments, compliance for associates and contractors, and coordination of ongoing cyber security awareness events.
  • Oversee daily operations and continue to design and develop the governance strategy.

  • Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to make recommendations to all organizational levels.
  • Experience working seamlessly across a matrix structure as a strong functional team player.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and execution of multiple simultaneous and/or large projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile, LEAN, or Six Sigma methodologies.
