Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of cyber security and privacy governance professionals to develop standards and processes aimed at reducing information and technology risks.
  • Establish and maintain a governance framework that addresses regulatory, industry, and contractual obligations across all Sentara Healthcare businesses and regions.
  • Set primary oversight objectives and goals for information and technology governance, focusing on strategic alignment, performance management, value delivery, and risk management capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain standardized processes for assessing business and consumer risks, supporting the Cyber Security Management System.
  • Collaborate with industry peers to conduct benchmarking exercises, providing insights into Sentara Healthcare's maturity and implementing best practices.
  • Implement a regulatory monitoring program to assess the impact of regulatory changes across the technology landscape and report progress to business leadership.
  • Evaluate and communicate cyber security and privacy risks and solutions to business leadership.
  • Maintain metrics, reporting, and tracking programs to ensure processes are functioning as intended and risks are monitored.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and implement data protection and governance processes and technologies.
  • Partner with risk leaders and end users to assess and enhance business processes, striving for mutually beneficial, budget-conscious solutions.
  • Manage the Cyber Security Awareness program, including content management, phishing assessments, compliance oversight, and coordination of ongoing awareness events.
  • Oversee daily operations and continue to refine the governance strategy.
