Position Title: Territory Manager
Key Responsibilities:
The Territory Manager plays a crucial role in driving sales of product lines at the retail level. This position involves identifying potential clients, nurturing relationships, and fulfilling the merchandise needs of retail partners.
Core Duties Include:
- Meeting and exceeding revenue targets set by the company and/or Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
- Maintaining a standard work schedule of approximately 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend commitments.
- Conducting a minimum of 8 in-person sales meetings weekly, processing 10 orders from different retailers, and establishing new accounts as per defined objectives.
- Managing the complete product range while adhering to specific revenue targets for both Willow Tree and Portfolio lines.
- Executing account planning and forecasting within the assigned sales territory.
- Maintaining clear and timely communication with customers, RSM, and internal teams regarding sales and marketing developments.
- Providing weekly written reports to the RSM detailing successes, challenges, and opportunities within the territory.
- Making fair and balanced decisions concerning accounts and distribution.
- Systematically covering the entire assigned territory by engaging with retailers across all areas.
- Utilizing technology tools effectively, including Sales Force Automation Systems, EMUN, Concur, Web-Based Data Presentation Systems, Customer POS Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Participating in relevant trade shows and sales meetings as determined by the RSM or Director of Sales.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential for this role:
- Experience in outside sales, preferably in a business-to-business environment within the Gift Industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of the sales process, including needs assessment, account qualification, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to devise innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Strong presentation and follow-up skills.
- Willingness to adopt specific sales methodologies.
- Experience with independent retail and regional key accounts.
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Capability to learn and utilize additional technology tools effectively.
- A self-motivated individual with a strong desire for success.
