Job Overview

As a Software Release Coordinator, you will be instrumental in re-evaluating our software architecture and deployment methodologies to support our expanding platform. In this senior position, you will oversee the successful launch of the software systems that constitute the Q-SYS platform. Through strategic planning and problem-solving, you will lead a transformation of our release procedures, promoting a culture of continuous delivery and teamwork.

This role necessitates collaboration across various functions, including software development, hardware development, quality assurance, product management, and customer support. The Software Release Coordinator will spearhead the creation of a structured, agile, and high-performing release environment that emphasizes efficiency and quality assurance.

This position is available for remote candidates as well.


Compensation

Base Pay Range: $127,000 - $167,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the release management framework, coordinating all facets of the release lifecycle.
  • Influence our architectural roadmap to facilitate a more adaptable and responsive deployment process, aligning our embedded platform with the rhythm of a microservice architecture.
  • Plan release schedules and cycles across a diverse portfolio of products, ensuring clear communication of project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements, quality assurance plans, timelines, and scope adjustments.
  • Manage risks and resolve issues impacting release scope, timelines, and quality.
  • Measure and monitor progress to guarantee that application releases are delivered punctually and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Software Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities, executing deployment plans and checklists effectively.
  • Identify and define enhancements to the build and release processes to optimize our CI/CD pipeline, collaborating closely with our DevOps, software engineering, and quality assurance teams to implement these improvements.
  • Develop a configuration management and change management strategy for our modular software codebase.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Release Manager or Program Manager, with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management processes.
  • Exceptional facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert-level organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to mentor teams and individuals at all levels, including senior management.
  • Experience with Agile tools and software for project management and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with combined hardware/software product releases is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in a technical role such as software development or quality assurance is essential, with daily interaction with engineers and Product Managers to identify risks and resolve blocking issues being critical to success in this role.
