Your Role at Ascend Analytics

We are looking for a Lead Integration Specialist with a robust background in third-party integrations to join our SmartBidder team. This team is rapidly expanding and plays a vital role in advancing the clean energy transition by assisting our clients in maximizing the value of renewable energy and storage initiatives.

As a Lead Integration Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring seamless integration of our software with external systems that oversee renewable energy assets, connect with energy markets, and supply essential data for optimizing energy market engagement. Furthermore, you will deliver outstanding client support and insights regarding technical integrations during the onboarding phase for new SmartBidder clients, lead testing prior to deployment, and provide ongoing assistance for these integrations post-deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and third-party engineers alongside Ascend analysts, customer success, and engineers to ensure effective transition from sales to implementation and to comprehend and deliver comprehensive technical implementations of key integrations that meet client specifications.
  • Scope, design, develop, and execute integrations with third-party solutions and data providers.
  • Diagnose issues and assess new requirements as they emerge, proposing effective solutions and best practices.
  • Create a unified framework for integrating third-party software and consistently execute a thorough testing plan for integrations utilizing this framework.
  • Enhance internal API, alerting, and QA design and development to boost efficiency, effectiveness, stability, and risk management associated with third-party integrations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of implemented solutions, configurations, and troubleshooting protocols.
  • Partner with the customer success team to manage integration projects and help track implementation progress and status for communication to clients.
  • Serve as primary technical support for the platform as part of the team's weekly support rotations.
  • Oversee the deployment of individual new releases as part of the team's rotation for managing new releases.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in executing third-party integrations and/or as a technical sales resource for a software product.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Extensive experience with data structures and API schemas, including a solid understanding of API design philosophies and patterns, including common communication protocols (SOAP, REST) and data formats (JSON, XML).
  • Awareness of security requirements for integration tasks.
  • Determination to navigate ambiguity and gather clear requirements from third parties.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously based on occasionally tight and shifting client timelines.
  • Familiarity with project management to stay organized and manage, track, and communicate progress internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems.
  • Experience with Azure environments and Microsoft DevOps.
  • Background in energy and/or electricity markets.
Compensation: $105,000 - $135,000

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often offers compensation above the industry average.
