Position Overview:

  • The Healthcare Services Supervisor is responsible for managing the food service operations across all patient care areas within the facility. This includes overseeing the preparation and delivery of patient meals, snacks, and nutritional supplements, as well as managing food supplies outside of standard meal times. In partnership with the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Executive Chef, this role involves providing insights on dietary compliance, developing patient meal and cafeteria menus, and collaborating on the management of food service software.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and organizes the activities of supervisors and the patient services team engaged in food storage, preparation, and serving for patients. Evaluates current operational methods and procedures within the Food and Nutrition Services program to ensure effectiveness and compliance with regulatory standards, including TJC, DOH, and CMS.
  • Establishes and communicates policies and procedures that enhance patient food service delivery to all stakeholders. Focuses on improving patient experience by regularly monitoring satisfaction scores and discussing findings in team meetings.
  • Implements a results-driven Quality Assurance Program that ensures optimal patient service and safety, aligning with hospital standards. Adjusts staffing and workflows based on performance metrics.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Chef and Clinical Nutrition Manager on menu development to enhance patient satisfaction, monitors meal delivery performance, and refines processes to address any discrepancies.
  • Conducts onboarding training for new team members and ensures a clean, safe working environment by overseeing sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Manages nutrition staff schedules and oversees payroll processes for all personnel involved in patient meal delivery.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Service, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Nutrition or Food Service is required.
  • Registered Dietitian certification is preferred.
