Position Summary:

  • Oversees and directs the environmental services personnel at a single campus in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Provides leadership, support, coordination, and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety protocols, and customer service expectations are consistently met.
  • Embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company’s Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.
  • Responsible for coordinating and ensuring the satisfactory and timely completion of projects and programs within the facility across various shifts.
  • Utilizes protective equipment in all relevant tasks.
  • Maintains accurate records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
  • Ensures that all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
  • Monitors the availability of janitorial supplies.
  • Conducts periodic inventories of supplies and materials, trains new staff, and recommends dismissals when necessary.
  • Acts as a liaison between building occupants or administrators and the environmental services staff.
  • Effectively communicates all directives from management and building occupants to the environmental services team.
  • Capable of performing the duties of day porter, custodian, and floor technician as needed.
  • Training, quality control, and in-servicing staff are essential responsibilities, including regular building tours to assess work quality using Quality Control Inspections for documentation.
  • As a department head, conducts oneself and the department in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in Environmental Services within a school or healthcare setting and personnel supervision is desired.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Must be punctual and able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and implement basic infection control procedures.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and mixing of chemicals.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts as required.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Services, laundry, and floor care program requirements.
  • Proficient in using all department equipment.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as necessary.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use public relations techniques to promote the Environmental Services program.
  • Positive interaction with residents, clients, and other personnel.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by applicable regulations.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
