Job Overview:
As a pivotal member of our team, the Senior Manager of Planning Projects will provide essential expertise in directing and supporting comprehensive planning efforts across various projects. This role is integral in shaping the planning strategies, designs, and standards that influence campus development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage project planning and feasibility assessments to advance capital projects, establishing clear project scope, timelines, and budgets for multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Lead client-facing activities during the programming and conceptual design stages of projects.
  • Interpret and enforce planning standards, principles, policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify critical issues, proposing actionable strategies based on assessment criteria.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, memoranda, and presentation materials for diverse audiences.
  • Deliver engaging oral presentations, utilizing various communication aids to enhance understanding.
  • Coordinate planning projects by managing cross-departmental teams effectively.
  • Monitor relevant community development and regional planning issues.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure holistic project development.
  • Integrate campus objectives into district-wide and campus-specific master planning.
  • Forecast and schedule complex projects to optimize execution.
  • Continuously seek knowledge in the design and planning of educational environments.
  • Facilitate learning sessions for staff to enhance their expertise in planning.
  • Stay updated on building codes, materials, and construction standards.
  • Participate in committees and represent the department at relevant events.


Required Qualifications:
  • Five years of relevant experience in project and program planning for capital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Architecture, or Engineering.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Eight years of related experience in project and program planning.
  • Master's degree in Planning, Architecture, or Engineering.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CEFP, CCM).


Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in using various software for project management and reporting.


Physical Requirements:
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with occasional site visits.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and navigating job sites.

Salary Range:
$85,239 - $106,548
