POSITION OVERVIEW


Accountable for executing a diverse range of financial services including the initiation and closure of accounts, renewing time deposits, and providing assistance to clients regarding account inquiries, maintenance, and issue resolution.

In collaboration with the Teller Supervisor, responsible for training, developing, and motivating lobby staff to effectively assist customers and promote bank products and services.

Possesses fundamental knowledge of basic deposit and loan offerings. Identifies sales and referral opportunities and aims to achieve related objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Ensures the proficient and professional execution of financial service operations.

  • Introduces and clarifies Bank products and services to clients, assisting in fulfilling their financial requirements, including but not limited to: opening, closing, and managing checking, savings, time deposit, and individual retirement accounts, as well as handling safe deposit boxes, savings bonds, credit cards, and basic consumer loans.
  • Addresses inquiries and resolves issues for clients by actively listening, gathering information, and providing solutions.
  • Analyzes client profiles to uncover sales opportunities.
  • Utilizes lead lists and other strategies to devise methods for generating additional business.

2. Establishes and maintains effective, professional relationships with clients.

  • Handles client requests and inquiries promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Processes new client accounts and modifications to existing accounts, such as name changes, address updates, product alterations, and other maintenance requests.
  • Safeguards the confidentiality of customer account information.
  • Upholds and promotes the Bank's professional image.

3. Fosters effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management.

  • Provides assistance to area personnel as needed.
  • Keeps the Banking Center Manager informed of area activities and significant issues.
  • Completes necessary reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions that may occur on weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Oversees annual year-end reporting and special projects relevant to the banking center, such as key box audits or safe deposit box key audits.
  • Reviews new account entries and data as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Supports Treasury Management with new accounts and services for clients.
  • Ensures daily logs are accurately completed and organized at the end of the month for easy review.

4. Undertakes related duties as required or assigned.

  • Actively and professionally promotes Bank products and services, with a responsibility to meet sales production targets.
  • Performs related clerical tasks as necessary.
  • Ensures that workspaces are clean, secure, and well-maintained.

PERFORMANCE METRICS

  • Financial service functions are executed efficiently, effectively, and accurately in line with established policies, standards, and security protocols.
  • Strong business relationships are maintained with clients, with prompt and courteous resolution of client issues and inquiries.
  • Effective working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and management, providing appropriate support to area staff as needed.
  • Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Consistently seeks to develop new client relationships while strengthening existing ones by identifying opportunities to promote Bank products and services and achieve sales production goals.
  • The Bank's professional reputation is upheld and communicated.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Knowledge:
Solid understanding of financial services and products offered.

Experience Required:
General customer service experience is required.
Personal Banker experience is preferred.
Previous banking experience is preferred.

Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and public relations skills.
Professional demeanor and attitude.
Ability to operate relevant computer applications and business equipment, including 10-key and telephone.
Strong math and bookkeeping skills.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
40 hours per week.
